[OSENWORLD] Netflix’s latest animated feature KPop Demon Hunters has taken the global charts by storm, climbing to No. 1 in 26 countries—including the U.S., France, Germany, Vietnam, and Thailand.
According to streaming analytics platform FlixPatrol on June 23, the fantasy-action movie scored 771 points to lead Netflix’s global film rankings. The film was released globally on June 20.
KPop Demon Hunters follows the story of three superstar idols—Rumi, Mira, and Joy—who lead a double life. By day, they dominate the K-pop stage. By night, they battle dark forces threatening the world. It’s a bold mash-up of idol culture, Korean folklore, and action fantasy.

The film marks actor Ahn Hyo-seop’s debut in English voice acting role, while veteran star Lee Byung-hun lends his voice in both Korean and English for the menacing antagonist, Gwima. Adding even more star power, K-pop girl group TWICE members Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung contributed to the film’s original soundtrack.
Featuring striking visuals of landmarks like Namsan Seoul Tower, traditional hanok houses, and mythical grim reapers, the film blends modern K-pop glam with classic Korean cultural elements. Within just one day of its release, it topped the charts in 18 countries—including Australia, Chile, Poland, Turkey, and Italy—before rising to 26 over the weekend.
With its never-before-seen mix of K-pop stardom and demon-hunting heroics, KPop Demon Hunters is making waves as one of the most globally embraced animated titles on Netflix in recent memory.
How far can this supernatural K-pop sensation go? The world is watching.
