[OSENWORLD] K-pop powerhouse IVE will headline the halftime show during one of this summer’s most anticipated football events in South Korea.
Streaming platform Coupang Play officially announced on June 25 that IVE has been selected as the halftime performance artist for the opening match of the 2025 Coupang Play Series. The game, set for July 30 at 8 p.m. local time at Suwon World Cup Stadium, features Newcastle United (Premier League) — winners of the 2024–2025 Carabao Cup — going head-to-head with a K League All-Star team known as ‘Team K League’.
The Coupang Play Series combines high-profile friendly matches between top-tier international clubs and Korean stars with halftime performances by leading K-pop artists, creating a hybrid spectacle of sports and entertainment.
This year, IVE (members: An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo) is set to deliver a show-stopping performance. The group’s recent mini-album IVE EMPATHY, released in February, featured major hits like “REBEL HEART” and “ATTITUDE,” earning them 15 music show wins. They were also named the “Most Influential Female Idol Group” at the 2025 Brand Customer Loyalty Awards.
“We’re honored to be performing at halftime during the 2025 Coupang Play Series,” said IVE in a statement. “We’ll bring our signature energy to the field and hope fans and players alike enjoy the experience.”
Early bird ticketing for Game 1 opens on June 25 at 8 p.m. for Sports Pass members. General ticket sales will follow on June 26 at 8 p.m., available to Coupang Wow members. Details for the halftime performance artist for Game 2 of the series will be announced at a later date.
