[OSENWORLD] Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard (33), now playing for FC Seoul, has once again proven he’s a devoted Squid Game fan.
On June 27 (KST), as Netflix premiered Squid Game Season 3 worldwide at 4 p.m., the former Premier League midfielder marked the occasion by sharing two mysterious yet playful photos on his Instagram.
The first photo shows an unidentified figure in a Squid Game-style mask and tracksuit standing in front of a TV screen displaying the Season 3 title. In the second, the same figure — now in the show’s signature pink jumpsuit and black mask — lounges on a sofa, legs outstretched, calmly watching the series.

Both shots appear to have been taken from Lingard’s high-rise apartment overlooking the Han River in Seoul, where he’s lived since joining FC Seoul in February 2024.
Lingard’s affection for the hit Korean series dates back to his time in the Premier League. In 2021, while playing for Manchester United, he posted a photo of lead actor Lee Jung-jae along with a squid emoji, revealing his early fandom.
Earlier this year, he brought his Squid Game love onto the pitch. After scoring the opening goal in a 2–1 win over FC Anyang during the second round of the 2025 K League 1 season, Lingard celebrated by mimicking Lee Jung-jae’s iconic “Freeze” gesture from Season 2 — a moment that delighted fans.

With his ongoing enthusiasm — both on and off the field — Squid Game Season 3 might just deepen Lingard’s love for Korean drama even further.
