[OSENWORLD] Ahn Hyo-seop is enjoying a surge in international popularity thanks to his performance in the Netflix animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters — and interestingly, the spotlight is extending to fellow actor Chae Jong-hyeop, with online fans noting their striking resemblance.
In the film, Ahn voices Jinwoo, the charismatic leader of the fictional boy group “SAjA Boys.” He not only performed the voice acting but also sang for the soundtrack, showcasing his versatility as both an actor and singer.
K-Pop Demon Hunters premiered globally on June 20 and has dominated the Netflix film charts for 11 consecutive days, according to data aggregator FlixPatrol. Its original soundtrack is also charting high, including on the Billboard 200, demonstrating the international power of “K-pop animation.”

As Ahn’s appearance garners attention, fans have drawn comparisons to Chae Jong-hyeop, who rose to fame through his role as Yoon Tae-oh in the Japanese TBS romance drama Eye Love You, which streamed on Netflix. The series earned him a strong following in Japan.
Both actors are known for their tall stature — standing in the mid-180 cm range — along with sharp features and warm, charming visuals. Their bright and approachable personalities, combined with soft, endearing smiles, have earned them the nickname “puppy-like” or “gentle giant” types among fans.
They’ve also built solid reputations as leading men, consistently taking on main roles in dramas and earning recognition for their acting skills. Their strong fanbases are reflected in their frequent high rankings in popularity polls.

Another shared trait is their global background: Ahn Hyo-seop was born in Canada, while Chae Jong-hyeop studied abroad in Thailand and South Africa — giving both actors a distinctly international edge that resonates with global audiences.
With both actors rising in popularity across Asia, their careers — and their unexpected visual link — are drawing increasing attention from fans and media alike.
