[OSENWORLD] G-DRAGON will represent South Korea on the global stage as the official ambassador for the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, set to be held in South Korea next year.
On July 23, Galaxy Corporation—an AI-based entertainment tech company and G-DRAGON’s agency—formally announced his appointment. The company emphasized that it will actively support G-DRAGON in spotlighting the future of “entertech” (entertainment and technology) and amplifying his cultural influence to a global audience.
As the APEC ambassador, G-DRAGON is expected to participate in a wide range of activities, including promotional content appearances and related global events. His involvement will officially begin with an ambassador appointment ceremony, followed by a series of campaigns reflecting APEC’s core themes of connection, innovation, and sustainability.
Notably, the official promotional video for APEC will be produced by Dolphin Kidnappers (돌고래유괴단), a well-known South Korean creative production house, which aims to deliver APEC’s message—“Connecting to the World Through Innovation”—through visually compelling storytelling.
The 2025 APEC Preparatory Office commented, “G-DRAGON symbolizes creativity and innovation—values that align perfectly with APEC’s vision of connectivity and sustainability. His global influence makes him the ideal figure to expand international awareness and interest in the upcoming summit.”
Galaxy Corporation also stated, “We will fully support G-DRAGON as he shares APEC’s forward-thinking vision with the world and helps elevate South Korea’s global standing through this historic event.”
With 100 days left until the 2025 APEC Summit, G-DRAGON’s appointment is expected to energize international attention and engage younger generations through his massive global fandom. The partnership also aims to showcase South Korea’s unique blend of cultural content and cutting-edge technology, establishing a new image of innovation in the global arena.
