[OSENWORLD] Former JYJ member Park Yoochun (パク・ユチョン) is preparing a return to music, teasing a new single release in Japan—a move that effectively marks his unofficial comeback to the entertainment industry.
On August 1, Park took to his personal social media account to share a cryptic message in Japanese, writing: “MOON babe!!! I hope to see you tomorrow night,” along with a photo believed to be the cover art for his new release.
In the photo, Park wears a beige-toned suit and stares pensively into the distance. The title “Moon” is presumed to be the name of the upcoming track or album.
The release appears to be exclusive to the Japanese market. His use of Japanese in the announcement, combined with speculation among fans that Park participated in the songwriting and composition, suggests a targeted return. There are also rumors that he is preparing a fan meeting.
Park Yoochun’s career has been fraught with controversy in recent years. In 2019, he was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year suspended sentence for drug use. At the time, he famously declared in a press conference that he would retire from the entertainment industry if found guilty—a promise he later reversed.
Despite public backlash, Park resumed overseas activities—especially in Japan—sparking renewed criticism over his return to the spotlight. His reputation was further damaged by past scandals, including a 2016 sexual misconduct controversy, inclusion on a national list of high tax delinquents, and most recently, a court ruling ordering him to pay 500 million KRW (approximately $385,000 USD) to his former agency for breaching a court injunction.
As Park moves forward with his Japan-based career, his comeback continues to raise questions about accountability and second chances in the entertainment industry.
