[OSENWORLD] Netflix has officially greenlit Possible Love, the highly anticipated new film from acclaimed Korean director Lee Chang-dong, marking his first project in eight years. The global streamer also unveiled a powerhouse cast led by Jeon Do-yeon, Sul Kyung-gu, Zo In-sung, and Cho Yeo-jeong.
Possible Love follows two married couples living in starkly contrasting realities. As their lives unexpectedly intersect, cracks begin to form in their relationships, slowly unraveling their carefully maintained realities. The film promises a deeply layered narrative exploring human desire, conflict, and emotional transformation.
This project reunites Jeon Do-yeon with director Lee Chang-dong for the first time since their Cannes-winning collaboration on Secret Sunshine (2007). Jeon, who recently showcased her versatility in Kill Boksoon, Revolver, and Crash Course in Romance, will portray Mi-ok, a woman with a complex inner life and emotional depth.

Veteran actor Sul Kyung-gu joins Lee Chang-dong for the third time, following their work on Peppermint Candy and Oasis. He plays Ho-seok, Mi-ok’s husband. Sul and Jeon share a long history on screen, having previously starred together in Birthday, I Wish I Had a Wife, and Kill Boksoon.
In contrast to their characters, the second couple in the film—Sang-woo and Ye-ji—live a very different kind of life. These roles are played by Zo In-sung and Cho Yeo-jeong, respectively. Zo, best known internationally for his performances in Moving, Escape from Mogadishu, and Smugglers, will be working with Lee Chang-dong for the first time. Cho, who rose to global fame through Parasite, brings her signature intensity to the role of Ye-ji.
Director Lee Chang-dong has won global recognition for his work on Burning, Poetry, and Secret Sunshine, earning accolades at major film festivals including Cannes and Venice. Known for his piercing portrayals of human vulnerability and social tension, Lee is expected to deliver yet another emotionally resonant film. The script was co-written with Oh Jung-mi, who also co-wrote Burning, and will be produced by Pinehouse Film.
Netflix describes Possible Love as a meditation on opposing worldviews, emotional upheaval, and the quiet transformations that ripple through lives. With Lee’s signature storytelling and a stellar ensemble, the film is set to raise profound questions about love, identity, and the fragility of relationships.
