[OSENWORLD] Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters — now the streamer’s most-watched animated film of all time — is heading to theaters in the U.S. and Canada for a special two-day event.
On August 23–24, the film will be screened in a “Sing-Along” version across North America. In this special version, subtitles will display the lyrics during the movie’s key musical numbers, allowing audiences to sing along in real time with the characters. Fans can even help “complete the Honmoon seal” — a mystical ritual in the story that locks away demons — by adding their voices to the performance.

Produced by Sony Pictures Animation and co-directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, the voice cast features Arden Cho (Teen Wolf) as LUMI, Mei Hong as MIRA, and Yoo Ji-young as ZOEY, alongside Ahn Hyo-seop, Kim Yunjin (Lost), Joel Kim Booster, Liza Koshy, Daniel Dae Kim (Lost), Ken Jeong, and Lee Byung-hun (Squid Game).
Since its June 20 release, KPop Demon Hunters has reached No. 2 on Netflix’s all-time English-language film chart with over 180 million views, while securing the No. 1 spot among animated films. Its original soundtrack album debuted at No. 2 on the August 16 Billboard 200 chart and has surpassed 3 billion global streams.
The star-studded OST features EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, REI AMI, Andrew Choi, Danny Chung, Kevin Woo, samUIL Lee, Neckwav, and Broadway legend Lea Salonga. Production credits include hitmakers TEDDY, 24, IDO, DOMINSUK, Jenna Andrews, Stephen Kirk, Lindgren, and Ian Eyzendrath.

넷플릭스의 'TUDUM'에 따르면 넷플릭스 역대 최다 시청 애니메이션 영화로 등극한 ‘케이팝 데몬 헌터스’가 오는 23~24일 단 이틀간 북미 전역 극장에서 ‘싱어롱(Sing-Along)’ 버전으로 상영된다.
‘싱어롱 버전’이란 영화 속 주요 노래 장면에서 가사가 자막으로 제공돼 관객들이 함께 따라 부를 수 있도록 만든 특별 상영 형태를 말한다. 팬들이 직접 노래를 부르며 ‘혼문(Honmoon)’ 봉인을 함께 완성할 수 있는 자리다.
티켓은 13일 오전 6시(현지 서부 기준, 동부 기준 오전 9시)부터 예매 가능하다. 예매와 상영관 정보는 공식 홈페이지에서 확인할 수 있다.
소니 픽처스 애니메이션이 제작한 이 작품은 매기 강과 크리스 아펠한스가 공동 연출을 맡고, 아든 조(루미 역), 메이 홍(미라 역), 유지영(조이 역)을 비롯해 안효섭, 김윤진, 조엘 킴 부스터, 리사 코시, 대니얼 대 김, 켄 정, 이병헌 등이 목소리 출연했다.
지난 6월 20일 공개된 이후 ‘케이팝 데몬 헌터스’는 넷플릭스 영어권 영화 역대 2위(1억8000만 뷰 이상), 애니메이션 1위에 오르며 흥행 신기록을 세웠다. OST 앨범은 8월 16일자 빌보드 200 차트 2위를 차지했고, 전 세계 누적 스트리밍 30억 회를 돌파했다.
OST에는 EJAE, 오드리 누나, 레이 아미, 앤드루 최, 대니 청, 케빈 우, samUIL Lee, Neckwav, 레아 살롱가 등이 참여했으며, 프로듀서로는 테디, 24, IDO, DOMINSUK, 제나 앤드류스, 스티븐 커크, 린드그렌, 이안 아이젠드라스 등이 이름을 올렸다.
