[OSENWORLD] KPop Demon Hunters — Netflix’s runaway hit about a K-pop group who secretly work as demon hunters — is setting its sights on becoming the streamer’s most-watched film of all time. And to celebrate, it’s heading to theaters in the U.S. and Canada for a special two-day “Sing-Along” event.
On August 23–24, audiences across North America can join screenings where on-screen lyrics will appear during key musical numbers, inviting fans to sing in real time with the characters. Viewers can even “complete the Honmoon seal” — a central magical ritual in the story — by adding their voices to the performance.
Tickets go on sale August 13 at 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET via SingKPopDemonHunters.com, which will also list participating theaters.

The animated action musical, co-directed by Korean-Canadian filmmaker Maggie Kang and U.S. director Chris Appelhans (Wish Dragon), follows the all-female K-pop group Huntress as they battle supernatural forces threatening humanity. The voice cast includes Arden Cho (Teen Wolf) as Lumi, Mei Hong as Mira, and Yoo Ji-young as Zoey, alongside Ahn Hyo-seop, Kim Yunjin (Lost), Joel Kim Booster, Liza Koshy, Daniel Dae Kim (Lost), Ken Jeong, and Lee Byung-hun (Squid Game).
Since its June 20 release, KPop Demon Hunters has racked up 184.6 million views — calculated by dividing its 307.6 million total hours viewed by its 100-minute runtime — putting it at No. 2 on Netflix’s all-time English-language film list, just behind Red Notice (230.9 million views). In only seven weeks, the gap has narrowed to just 46.3 million views, and with a weekly average exceeding 26 million, industry watchers predict it could claim the top spot in the coming weeks.
The film’s global popularity has also translated into chart-topping music success. Its lead single “Golden” recently made history by hitting No. 1 on both the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 (Aug. 11) and the U.K. Official Singles Chart (Aug. 1), making it one of the rare tracks to simultaneously top the world’s two most influential music charts. The soundtrack album, featuring artists like EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, REI AMI, Andrew Choi, Kevin Woo, and Broadway legend Lea Salonga, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and has surpassed 3 billion streams worldwide.

Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, KPop Demon Hunters has also secured the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s animated film chart. Its combination of high-energy K-pop anthems, lavish visuals, and heartfelt storytelling has fueled a wave of fan engagement — from viral dance challenges to cosplay meetups — and now, the chance for fans to sing along in cinemas.
