[OSENWORLD] BTS member V will take the mound at Dodger Stadium this month. The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Aug. 17 that he will throw the ceremonial first pitch before their home game on Aug. 25.
The team shared the news directly with fans on social media, posting: “ARMY, you ready? V will be at Dodger Stadium on 8/25 to throw out the ceremonial first pitch!” The post included a purple heart emoji, a nod to BTS’ symbolic color.
The upcoming event marks a rare intersection between K-pop and Major League Baseball. While BTS members have previously appeared at major global events such as delivering a speech at the United Nations and performing at the Grammy Awards, this will mark V’s first time stepping onto an MLB mound.
V’s participation highlights BTS’ cultural influence that extends far beyond music, bridging entertainment, sports, and global fandom. All BTS members, including V, completed their military service this past June, and the group is scheduled to reunite with a new album in spring 2026.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers also announced on Aug. 13 that Son Heung-min, who recently signed with Major League Soccer club LAFC, will throw the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium on Aug. 27.
