[OSENWORLD] Yang Hyun-suk, executive producer of YG Entertainment, outlined future plans for the company’s flagship acts — TREASURE, BABYMONSTER and BLACKPINK.
In a video released on YG’s official YouTube channel on August 18, Yang first reflected on TREASURE’s growth since debut.
“TREASURE recently celebrated its fifth anniversary,” he said. “When So Jung-hwan first appeared on YG Treasure Box at 14, he was still a child, but now all the members are adults. They’ve truly entered their 20s.”
Yang described this new chapter as a transformation:
“TREASURE has grown into a more mature, adult group. If the past five years were Act 1 of their journey, then the album coming on September 1 will mark Act 2. It will include four retro-inspired tracks, designed to be easy to listen to and enjoyable over time.”
Turning to BABYMONSTER, Yang confirmed a slight shift in their release schedule.
“The album originally planned for October 1 will now drop on October 10,” he explained, citing distribution challenges around Korea’s Chuseok holiday, a major harvest festival that often affects release schedules.
He also noted that their previously teased track “Hot Sauce” will be released separately as a special summer single instead of being included on the mini album. The project will feature four new songs, with the title track confirmed as “We Go Up.”

Yang expressed ambitious goals for the rookie girl group:
“BABYMONSTER debuted just a year ago, yet they already filled venues on their North American tour. As a producer, my hope is that in three years they’ll be performing in stadiums. Most of their songs for next year are already 90% complete.”
The executive producer also teased their first group reality content:
“Unlike BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER hasn’t had original behind-the-scenes content. We’ve just filmed Bemon House, following the success of Blackpink House. Fans can expect the first episodes in September, ahead of the album release.”
Finally, Yang confirmed what global fans have been waiting to hear — BLACKPINK’s comeback.
“The members and producers are working very hard right now,” he said. “We’re hoping for a new album in November. We’ll do everything we can to deliver it soon.”
With all three acts preparing major projects, YG Entertainment is set for a busy fall season — juggling BLACKPINK’s global legacy while driving TREASURE and BABYMONSTER’s next chapter.
