[OSENWORLD] Kep1er’s Huening Bahiyyih opened up about her older brother, TXT’s Huening Kai, and shared candid thoughts on the advantages of having a sibling in the same industry.
During an interview with OSEN in Seoul’s Cheongdam-dong on August 14 — just days before the release of Kep1er’s seventh mini album BUBBLE GUM on August 19 — Bahiyyih spoke warmly about her brother, whose birthday coincided with the interview.
Asked if there were any downsides to having an idol sibling, Bahiyyih replied without hesitation: “There are far more advantages than disadvantages. Having him in the same industry feels really reassuring. When our schedules overlap, we sometimes greet each other in passing. And I always perform with the thought, ‘My brother might be watching.’”
She also revealed that Huening Kai and her sister helped weigh in on choosing Kep1er’s title track. “We had two candidates for the title track, and I even played them for my family,” she said. “Both my sister and brother told me BUBBLE GUM would do well. They said it’s addictive and that the public would love it.”
As the first Mnet project group to renew their contracts in May 2024, Kep1er extended their activities, while TXT members are now entering their own renewal discussions. Bahiyyih, who experienced renewal earlier, offered her brother some heartfelt advice: “The most important thing is to get along well with your members. Stay united as a team — that’s what matters most.”
Finally, she shared a lighthearted birthday message: “Happy birthday, of course! I even texted him right at midnight, but he left my KakaoTalk message unread. I was a little upset,” she laughed.
