[OSENWORLD] Netflix’s global hit animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters has made Billboard history. For the first time in 29 years — since the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack in 1996 — a movie soundtrack has landed three songs simultaneously in the top 10 of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
Billboard’s preview of the chart dated August 23 (local time) shows the fictional girl group HUNTR/X holding strong at No. 2 with their single “Golden.” The track, which topped the Hot 100 for the first time last week, slipped one spot despite a 4% increase in streams to 32.8 million, holding No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart for a fourth consecutive week. “Golden” has now spent eight weeks on the Hot 100.
Meanwhile, rival in-universe boy group Saja Boys pushed the soundtrack to this new record. Their single “Your Idol” surged from No. 8 to No. 4, marking their first top 5 entry and extending its Hot 100 streak to eight weeks. Another Saja Boys track, “Soda Pop,” climbed from No. 14 to No. 10, earning its first top 10 placement — giving Saja Boys two songs in the Hot 100’s top 10 simultaneously.

This rare achievement recalls the soundtrack boom of the late 1970s and early 1980s, when films like Saturday Night Fever and Grease placed multiple songs in the top 10. With three songs in the Hot 100 top 10, K-Pop Demon Hunters is the first soundtrack in nearly three decades to achieve that feat.
