[OSENWORLD] GOT7’s youngest member and AOMG solo artist, Yugyeom, has shared a heartfelt message with fans ahead of his military enlistment: “Please listen to my songs while you wait.”
On August 23, AOMG confirmed via its official social media that Yugyeom was designated as a professional specialist soldier by the Military Manpower Administration. He is scheduled to enlist on September 29, 2025, undergo basic military training, and then fulfill his service with the army band.
In a handwritten letter to his fandom, IGOT7 (Ahgase), Yugyeom expressed gratitude and reassurance: “I’ll serve the nation while staying healthy, and I promise to return safely. If you miss me, please listen to my songs and think of me. I’ll come back soon with a great album, showing how much I’ve grown.”
Yugyeom has consistently impressed as both a global artist and a solo musician. He completed the ‘TRUSTY’ world tour last year, solidifying his international presence, and released his second full-length solo album, Interlunar, in June 2025. The album — released just before his enlistment — delivers a poignant metaphor, likening his mandatory hiatus to the “interlunar” phase of the moon, symbolizing absence with the promise of reunion.
Earlier this year, GOT7 also released WINTER HEPTAGON as a full group and staged major concerts in Korea and Thailand, maintaining their group momentum despite individual enlistment plans.
Yugyeom’s forthcoming army band service, combined with his creative contributions and heartfelt farewell, continues to draw overwhelming support and anticipation for his return — stronger, more mature, and ready to create anew.
