[OSENWORLD] KPop Demon Hunters has shattered records to become Netflix’s most-watched film ever, racking up 236 million views in just 10 weeks.
According to Netflix’s official ranking site Tudum on August 27, the animated musical fantasy logged 236 million views worldwide and 393.3 million total hours watched, surpassing 2021’s Red Notice (230.9 million views), which starred Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot.
Released on June 20, KPop Demon Hunters steadily climbed the charts before claiming the No. 1 spot in its 10th week — underscoring its remarkable staying power and broad international appeal.

The film centers on Huntr/x, a fictional K-pop girl group — Rumi, Mira, and Zoey — who dazzle on stage while secretly fighting demons off it. Blending Korean folklore with the high-energy aesthetics of idol culture, the film has been praised for its bold mix of tradition and pop spectacle.
The phenomenon isn’t limited to streaming. The film’s soundtrack has ignited a global music craze. Huntr/x’s anthem “Golden” made history as the first K-pop girl group track (real or fictional) to top the Billboard Hot 100. Other OST tracks — “Your Idol,” “Soda Pop,” and “How It’s Done” — also landed on the Hot 100, a rare feat not seen since the iconic soundtrack eras of Saturday Night Fever and Waiting to Exhale.
With record-breaking streaming numbers, Billboard triumphs, and even a successful U.S. theatrical sing-along release, KPop Demon Hunters has cemented its place as Netflix’s biggest film to date — and one of 2025’s defining pop culture phenomena.
