[OSENWORLD] HYBE rookie group BOYNEXTDOOR have topped the Japanese music market, claiming No. 1 spots on both Oricon and Billboard Japan with their second single BOYLIFE.
According to Oricon on August 28, BOYLIFE ranked No. 1 on the Weekly Combined Singles Chart (covering August 18–24) with 356,590 index points. The single also topped the Weekly Singles Chart, giving the group a double crown on Japan’s most influential music rankings. Oricon noted that strong CD sales drove the results, with the single selling around 346,000 physical copies in its first week alone. BOYNEXTDOOR are the only overseas act in 2025 to surpass 300,000 first-week sales and debut at No. 1 on the chart.
The group’s momentum extended to Billboard Japan, where BOYLIFE entered at No. 1 on the Top Singles Sales chart, while title track “Count To Love” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100. The music video for “Count To Love” also rose to No. 1 on LINE MUSIC’s Weekly Music Video Top 100, further cementing the group’s popularity.
BOYLIFE captures the confident, youthful charm of BOYNEXTDOOR, channeling universal emotions through the group’s vivid storytelling style. The Japanese original title track “Count To Love” depicts the excitement of love with a bright, upbeat energy. Member Taesan participated in its creation, adding the group’s signature color to the song.
BOYNEXTDOOR will perform their new single on TBS’s CDTV Live! Live! on September 1 and are scheduled for a three-week feature on TV Asahi’s M:ZINE from September 5 to 19.
