[OSENWORLD] BigHit Music has issued its first official response to rumors involving BTS member Jimin and actress Song Da-eun, following a fresh wave of online speculation.
In a statement released August 31, the label said, “We have refrained from commenting out of respect for Jimin’s private life and for the individual in question. However, with speculative reports and unfounded rumors continuing to circulate, it has become unavoidable to clarify the basic facts.”
The company added: “The artist and the individual once shared a personal connection several years ago, but they are not currently in a relationship. We respectfully ask that people refrain from reckless speculation about private matters. We also urge everyone to avoid actions that could cause harm to the other party being mentioned alongside the artist.”
The clarification follows a personal video uploaded by Song Da-eun that spread widely across social media, fueling renewed chatter about her ties to the BTS star. BigHit’s statement marks the first time the company has directly addressed the matter.
Rumors surrounding the two are not new. Last year, Song drew attention after posting—and later deleting—photos on social media showing a BTS T-shirt and an earphone case engraved with the names “Jimin” and “Da-eun.” At the time, she declined to elaborate, telling followers, “Please ask the other person about matters that don’t concern me.”
Song has also indicated plans to pursue legal action against online abuse. She previously shared screenshots of malicious messages alongside the warning: “If someone hurt others on purpose, they should be punished. A lawyer is reviewing this. There will be a police investigation soon.”
Her recent post reignited speculation, ultimately prompting BigHit Music to move away from its silence and publicly set the record straight.
Meanwhile, Jimin continues to juggle his solo activities with BTS commitments, sustaining strong support from fans worldwide.
