[OSENWORLD] NCT’s Haechan is stepping into a new chapter as a solo artist, unveiling his first full-length album TASTE (테이스트) — a project that distills years of preparation into music that reflects both his identity and sincerity.
The interlude track Intermission sets the tone, shifting seamlessly from soul to funk as if a theater curtain were rising on a new act. Through spoken narration, Haechan declares his readiness to share the talent he has honed over time, signaling the true start of his solo career.
Among the standout tracks is Talented, an electro-funk pop dance number built on groovy swing bass riffs and futuristic sounds. Its lyrics convey his determination to captivate listeners with his talent.
Balancing this boldness is Grey Rain, a track pairing gentle acoustic guitar with emotive vocals in an alternative pop R&B style. The song offers a quiet reflection on loneliness and the fleeting moments of healing that follow, highlighting the emptiness that can linger behind a fast-paced, glamorous life.
The album closes with Outro (Back In The Studio), a soft R&B piece that depicts Haechan returning to the studio, highlighting his resolve to keep creating and hinting that TASTE is only the beginning.
To preview the project, a highlight medley titled TASTE OF LIGHT will be released at midnight KST on Sept. 1 via NCT’s official YouTube channel, offering fans an early glimpse at select tracks.
Haechan’s first solo studio album TASTE will be released on Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. KST across major streaming platforms, alongside a physical album.
