[OSENWORLD] LE SSERAFIM’s Kim Chaewon is stepping into the spotlight with her rendition of a beloved classic.
On September 2, Netflix announced via its official social channels that Kim will sing the theme song “Confession” for its upcoming Japanese series Romantic Anonymous (Japanese title: Netflixシリーズ「匿名の恋人たち」), premiering worldwide on October 16.
The track is a Japanese remake of Park Hye-kyung’s 1999 hit “Confession”, cherished for its tender lyrics about unspoken love and its bright, hopeful melody. Kim layers her clear tone and delicate delivery onto the original sentiment, refreshing the song for a new generation of listeners.
Even before its full release, anticipation has surged. A short snippet of Kim’s version, featured in the series’ official trailer uploaded to Netflix Japan’s YouTube channel on August 14, immediately caught global attention. Fans praised her vocals in the comments, noting how well her voice matched the drama’s romantic mood. The full track will be released digitally on September 19, ahead of the show’s premiere.
“This is my first time singing a drama OST on my own, so I’m excited,” Kim said. “The original ‘Confession’ by Park Hye-kyung is such a famous song, and I’ve listened to it often. I’m so happy to remake it and can’t wait for people to hear it.” She added, “I hope many will feel both excitement and courage when listening to this song, which reminds me of a first love.”
Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM (Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, Hong Eunchae) are preparing for their first-ever North American tour. According to Source Music, the 2025 LE SSERAFIM TOUR ‘EASY CRAZY HOT’ IN NORTH AMERICA kicks off on September 3 (local time) in Newark, and all six stops — Newark, Chicago, Grand Prairie, Inglewood, San Francisco, and Las Vegas — have already sold out.
