[OSENWORLD] Netflix has confirmed that Black-and-White Chef: Culinary Class War will return with its highly anticipated second season in December 2025, promising an even grander scale and fiercer head-to-head clashes among Korea’s top chefs.
The announcement was made on September 2 during the Netflix Variety Festival 2025 held at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul, where creators and Netflix director Yoo Ki-hwan gathered to share updates on the future of Korean variety programming.
“Last year was a meaningful one,” Yoo reflected. “Black-and-White Chef received tremendous attention and love, with record-high viewing hours. Beyond being a hit show, it reinvigorated the culinary industry and sparked broader interest in Korean cuisine.”
Originally launched in 2024, the series introduced a fierce “culinary class war” between self-made “black spoon” chefs and Korea’s most celebrated “white spoon” star chefs. The competition captured global audiences, making history as the first Korean variety program to top Netflix’s Global Non-English TV chart for three consecutive weeks.
Season 2 will raise the stakes even higher, delivering what Yoo described as a “multi-sensory cooking survival” filled with larger-scale challenges and more intense chef rivalries.
Netflix also previewed an ambitious release schedule, with new variety shows dropping every month through 2026. Highlights include Crime Scene Zero (September 23), Physical: Asia (October), and Three Meals in Kenya (November), followed by the December return of Black-and-White Chef. Looking ahead to 2026, Single’s Inferno 5 is slated for January, Mystery Squad 2 for February, alongside The Great Crazy Auction 2, Yoo Jae-suk Camp, and I’m a Solo at Heart But Still Want to Date 2.
