The next K-pop star might be… AI. JYP bets on the future

[OSENWORLD] JYP Entertainment is taking an unprecedented step into the future of K-pop, announcing plans to create an AI artist in collaboration with its tech subsidiary BlueGarage.
The project aims to answer the question: “Can AI call a fan’s name and truly connect with them?” By reimagining the bond between fans and virtual beings, JYP hopes to pioneer a new model of artist that blends the cultural identity of K-pop with cutting-edge technology — a vision tailored to Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences who are increasingly comfortable with virtual interaction.
“This is the first attempt to reinvent the essence of entertainment through AI,” said BlueGarage co-CEO Jung Min-jong. “By merging JYP’s unmatched creative and fan-centered expertise with AI innovation, we will help shape a new future for global K-content.”

To bring the project to life, BlueGarage is recruiting talent across Creative & Fan, Character, and Product & Engineering divisions. A total of 17 positions — including music producers, scenario writers, marketers, 3D modelers, UX designers, and LLM developers — are open until Sept. 30 via JYP’s recruitment website.
As JYP’s technology arm, BlueGarage has already been driving innovation with the global fan platform FANS, connecting audiences worldwide. It continues to expand into digital services, character and merchandise businesses, and AI-based ventures, positioning itself as a key hub for fusing technology and entertainment in K-pop’s global expansion.
