[OSENWORLD] BTS’s record-breaking single Dynamite has reached another milestone in its global legacy, becoming the group’s first music video to surpass 2 billion views on YouTube.
The video, released worldwide on Aug. 21, 2020, through HYBE Labels’ YouTube channel, crossed the 2-billion mark on Sept. 4 at 9:16 a.m. KST. Dynamite is now the first BTS music video to hit this landmark, rising from 1.9 billion views in December to 2 billion in just nine months.
A bright disco-pop track and the group’s first full English-language single, Dynamite captivated global audiences with its upbeat rhythm, vibrant choreography, and joyful visuals. The song became a healing anthem during the pandemic, earning immense love from fans around the world.

Beyond YouTube, Dynamite also secured its place in streaming history. Apple Music recently ranked the track No. 34 on its list of the most-streamed songs worldwide over the past decade — joined only by BTS’s Butter.
The single also rewrote chart history. With Dynamite, BTS became the first Korean act to top the Billboard Hot 100, holding No. 1 for three non-consecutive weeks. The track went on to win “Best Song” at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards, “Top Selling Song” at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, and earned Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) in record time for surpassing 500 million streams.
From streaming platforms to global award shows, Dynamite continues to prove why it stands as one of BTS’s most iconic songs — and why its impact continues to resonate worldwide.
