[OSENWORLD] Yoona’s performance in tvN’s historical fantasy drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty has turned the series into a global phenomenon, topping streaming charts worldwide.
As of September 3 (U.S. local time), the drama ranks No. 3 on Netflix’s Global Non-English TV chart, appearing in the Top 10 in more than 90 countries and reaching No. 1 in 29 of them, according to FlixPatrol. This achievement cements it as one of the top-performing Korean titles on Netflix right now.
In Korea, the drama has also proven to be a powerhouse. Premiering with a 4.9 percent viewership rating, it surged to 11.1 percent by Episode 4, making it tvN’s highest-rated drama of 2025 so far. Yoona has topped the Good Data Corporation “TV Buzz Actor” chart for two consecutive weeks, while the series itself ranked No. 1 among TV–OTT dramas for two straight weeks.
Yoona stars as Yeon Ji-young, a modern French-trained chef who time-slips into the Joseon era and ends up cooking for a tyrannical king with a flawless palate. Even when thrust into a foreign era, Ji-young refuses to compromise her values or professional pride, emerging as a bold and independent figure.
Her nuanced performance — balancing determination, humor, and emotional depth — has been widely praised, with viewers praising her as “Yeon Ji-young herself.” Strong chemistry with co-stars Lee Chae-min, Kang Han-na, Yoon Seo-ah, and Oh Eui-sik further enhances the series, making each scene dynamic and compelling.
