[OSENWORLD] Actress Jang Seo-yeon has shared her reflections on Butterfly, the Amazon Prime Video series also aired in Korea on tvN, calling it a turning point in her career and expressing gratitude to viewers worldwide.
Jang portrayed Moon, the elite agent and secretary to Juno (Piper Perabo), leader of the secret organization C.A.D.I.S. With her sharp suits, headset, and phone always at hand, Moon embodied precision and discipline. Jang’s strong English delivery heightened the realism of her character, earning positive recognition from audiences.
In her closing remarks, Jang revealed how meaningful the role was for her:
“I had always dreamed of working on a Hollywood project someday, and to act alongside Daniel Dae Kim was such a joy. It was also very special that, despite being an American series, I could appear in the same production with Korean actors like Park Hae-soo, Kim Tae-hee, and Kim Ji-hoon. Even though we didn’t share scenes, being part of the same project is something I’ll always be proud of.”
She went on to explain her preparation:
“Moon is a rational character who anticipates Juno’s needs. I focused on her styling, speech, and even her walk so that these traits would come through. It was a new challenge for me.”
On her English acting, Jang was candid:
“I always wanted to act in English, but opportunities were rare. I’m thankful for the good response. With Butterfly, I was able to form new connections abroad and introduce myself to more people. That makes the project truly meaningful for me.”

Finally, she thanked viewers with affection:
“Butterfly will always be precious to me as my first Hollywood project. Thank you to everyone who supported the show with love. Because of you, I’ve gained courage and confidence, and it feels like I’m standing at a new starting line.”
Jang Seo-yeon is set to continue her global journey in Season 2 of Netflix’s acclaimed series BEEF, where she will present an entirely new side of herself to audiences worldwide.
