[OSENWORLD] Solar, a member of the K-pop powerhouse group MAMAMOO, is making her big-screen debut this month.
The singer will appear in the upcoming supernatural thriller The Cursed (Korean title: Gwisi), which opens nationwide in South Korea on September 17.
In the film, Solar plays Mi-yeon, an aspiring novelist who travels to a rural village to pursue her dream of becoming a renowned writer. There, she encounters an ancient tree worshiped as the village guardian and becomes entangled in eerie, otherworldly events.
The project marks Solar’s first screen acting role. She has already proven her strong stage presence and vocal-acting ability through acclaimed musicals such as Mata Hari and Notre Dame de Paris, and is expected to showcase a new side of her artistry with The Cursed.
Beyond her acting debut, Solar continues to expand her career as a true all-rounder in both music and performance. She will hold her third solo concert, “Solar 3rd Concert ‘Solaris,’” at Yonsei University Centennial Hall in Seoul on October 11–12, where she will meet fans up close in a more personal setting.
The Cursed starring Solar opens in theaters across Korea on September 17.
