[OSENWORLD] Rookie boy group TWS (Shinyu, Dohun, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, Kyungmin) have scored their first Platinum certification in Japan with their debut single Nice to see you again (original title: はじめまして / Hajimemashite).
According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) on September 10, the single surpassed 250,000 cumulative sales as of August, earning Platinum status. RIAJ grants monthly certifications starting from Gold (100,000 units) up to Double Platinum (500,000).
This marks a new career high for TWS, who previously earned Gold with their debut single Last Bell and third mini-album TRY WITH US. Each release has broken their own records, cementing their position as one of the fastest-rising K-pop acts in Japan.
Since officially debuting in Japan this July, the group has made a powerful impact. Nice to see you again swept to No. 1 on both Oricon and Billboard Japan in its opening week, racking up four chart crowns. HYBE’s Pledis Entertainment supported the rollout with nationwide promotions, including pop-ups, cafés, retail tie-ins, and karaoke events.
The group’s first Japanese tour, 2025 TWS TOUR ‘24/7:WITH:US’ IN JAPAN, attracted roughly 50,000 fans across 10 shows, with most venues selling out so quickly that additional limited-view seats had to be opened. On August 15, they will also hit the stage at ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025, one of the country’s biggest summer music events.
Looking ahead, TWS will return with a new album in October, building on their Platinum success and solidifying their reputation as K-pop’s next breakout act on the global stage.
