[OSENWORLD] ILLIT are making a powerful impact on Japan’s biggest music charts with their first Japanese single Toki Yo Tomare (時よ止まれ, “Stop Time”).
According to Oricon on September 11, the single ranked No. 2 on the Weekly Combined Singles Chart (Sept. 15, covering Sept. 1–7), which combines CD sales, digital downloads, and streams into a single ranking. It also entered at No. 2 on the Weekly Singles Chart for the same period. Impressively, Toki Yo Tomare surpassed the first-week score of ILLIT’s third Korean mini-album bomb, released in June, underscoring the group’s accelerating growth.
The track also achieved double success on Billboard Japan, placing No. 2 on the Top Singles Sales chart (Sept. 10) and debuting at No. 4 on the Hot 100.
The single’s music video has added to the momentum. Praised for its cinematic, youth-film aesthetic, it topped Line Music’s Music Video Top 100 in real-time and daily rankings, and went on to secure No. 2 on the weekly chart (Sept. 3–9).
ILLIT’s television appearances have further fueled excitement. On September 9, they performed a special band version of Toki Yo Tomare on NHK’s music show Uta-Con, showcasing both confident live vocals and fresh stage presence. Their geek-chic styling also drew attention. That same day, they appeared on TBS’s morning show LOVE it!, where their playful variety skills resonated with viewers.
Their popularity is now extending to major live events. On September 6, ILLIT opened as a special act at the 41st Mynavi Tokyo Girls Collection 2025 Autumn/Winter, Japan’s largest fashion festival, delivering a performance that drew enthusiastic cheers from the audience. On September 14, they are set to take the main stage at Rock in Japan Festival 2025 in Chiba.
