[OSENWORLD] Dayoung of WJSN (Cosmic Girls) has stepped confidently into the spotlight, completing the first week of her solo debut with Body and proving she’s more than ready to stand on her own.
The singer officially began solo promotions on Sept. 11 with a performance on Mnet’s M Countdown, followed by stages on Music Bank (KBS2), Show! Music Core (MBC), and Inkigayo (SBS). Body is the title track of her first digital single album gonna love me, right?, released on Sept. 9.
Nearly nine years after debuting with WJSN, Dayoung displayed her signature upbeat and confident energy, pairing a punchy beat and addictive hook with strong live vocals. She delivered charismatic, eye-catching performances that highlighted both the skill she has built over nearly a decade and her vast potential as a solo act.
Her ability to fully enjoy the stage stood out. Whether exchanging eye contact and high-fives with dancers or finishing with effortless ad-libs, Dayoung turned every stage into a moment of shared joy with the audience. Her striking visuals and versatile styling also drew attention — from bold stage outfits to her Show! Music Core performance, which went viral for creatively using outdoor spaces instead of a traditional set.
Body blends crisp vocals, a vibrant hook, and late-summer energy with lyrics about love and self-assurance, highlighting a new chapter in Dayoung’s artistic journey. Alongside her broadcast stages, she has expanded the song’s reach with behind-the-scenes content, listening sessions with fellow Starship Entertainment artists, and TikTok-style challenge clips with fellow stars.
The debut has also earned strong international attention. U.S. outlet Forbes, U.K. music magazine NME, Seattle’s FOX 13, and MTV channels across the U.S., U.K., Germany, Japan, and Italy have all spotlighted Body and Dayoung’s solo debut, underscoring her growing global impact.
