[OSENWORLD] “My First Love Song” hit No. 1, proving that KickFlip is the real deal.
The rookie boy group under JYP Entertainment released their third mini album My First Flip on Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. KST, with the title track quickly rising to the top of Bugs’ real-time chart by midnight on Sept. 23. The album’s theme of “first love,” paired with all tracks credited to the members themselves, struck a chord with listeners, who praised both its sincerity and youthful energy. Fans commented, “The whole album is amazing,” “This is why they’re called a B-side powerhouse,” and “The title track feels like youth itself.”
The strong response was reflected on the charts. By 9 p.m. on release day, the album had already reached No. 1 on both Hanteo and Circle’s real-time album charts. On Bugs, all seven tracks from the album entered the rankings, including “Band-Aid,” “Singularity,” “Again, Here,” “Gas On It,” “404: Not Found,” and “But It’s a Secret I Had a Nightmare.”
KickFlip celebrated the release with a comeback show on Mnet’s M2 channel just an hour after the album dropped. Under the playful theme “KickFlip Exploration Life,” the members entertained fans with variety segments like a skateboarding quiz, a fan-poetry contest, and physical challenges, highlighting their humor and chemistry. Behind-the-scenes footage also captured their mischievous charm.
The highlight, however, was the parade of new stages. From the heartfelt youth anthem “Band-Aid” to the dreamlike “But It’s a Secret I Had a Nightmare” and the high-energy “Gas On It,” the performances confirmed KickFlip’s growing reputation as “stage masters.” The live debut of “My First Love Song” showed off their polished vocals and confident stagecraft, honed on global festival stages. The performance even sparked a powerful singalong that cemented their status as a performance-driven group.
Closing the show, the members addressed their fandom WeFlip: “We worked hard hoping you would enjoy this with us. Seeing your support today made us so happy, and we’ll never forget it. We’ll give our best in this comeback — we love you, WeFlip!”
