[OSENWORLD] “GALA” is where high fashion meets K-pop — XG’s boldest music video yet.
On Sept. 19, the girl group unveiled “GALA” as the pre-release track from their forthcoming first full-length album. By Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. KST, the video had already surpassed 2 million YouTube views and entered YouTube’s Trending Charts in 21 countries and regions, including the U.S., U.K. and Japan.
The single also appeared on Spotify’s “New Music Friday” playlists across 21 territories, proving XG’s growing global influence. With its fusion of couture-inspired styling, sharp choreography and cinematic visuals, the “GALA” music video has been praised as a performance only XG could deliver.
International outlets have taken note. The Hollywood Reporter highlighted member Maya’s comment: “‘GALA’ was inspired by the Met Gala. We tried so many new things — choreography, music, fashion — and I’m so happy we could show it to the world.” Member Cocona added, “This time we tried voguing, breakdancing, and even acrobatics.”
Building on the momentum, XG are rolling out additional concept visuals, beginning with Jurin’s “GALA” photos and expanding across the group. These releases underscore the group’s futuristic identity and creative edge.
Riding the momentum, XG will take “GALA” to the stage next month through their China Festival Tour, performing at major events including Beijing’s MDSK Music Festival (Oct. 2), Guangzhou’s Strawberry Music Festival (Oct. 4), Luzhou’s Galaxy Left Bank Music Festival (Oct. 7), and Shanghai’s Celebili Music Festival (Oct. 19).
