[OSENWORLD] tvN’s Bon Appétit, Your Majesty has quickly gone beyond being a hit drama to become a cultural phenomenon, breaking records at home and abroad while fueling a global K-drama wave.
Domestically, the series has been rewriting ratings history. By its second week, viewership more than doubled from the premiere — a surge that industry watchers described as a dramatic leap. From weeks two through five, it dominated its time slot across all channels, hitting a peak of 18.1% in the Seoul metropolitan area. On TVING, it held the No. 1 spot in VOD UV throughout its run (Aug. 23–Sept. 21).
The drama has also led Korea’s buzz rankings. It topped the TV–OTT drama category for five straight weeks, with lead actress Lim Yoona ranking No. 1 in actor buzz and co-star Lee Chae-min topping brand reputation charts in September. Gallup Korea further confirmed its status, naming it the most-loved TV program in the country for September 2025.
Internationally, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is setting new milestones for tvN. On Netflix, it secured the No. 1 spot in Non-English TV for two consecutive weeks — the first tvN series ever to do so. A CJ ENM distribution executive noted, “The star power of Lim Yoona and rising actor Lee Chae-min, combined with the balance of romance, comedy, fantasy time-slip elements, and a historical backdrop, delivers entertainment that feels both familiar and refreshingly new.”
The show’s digital impact has been just as striking. Across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty-related videos have surpassed 650 million views. Fans have recreated traditional dishes featured in the series, remixed iconic scenes, and generated their own viral content — showing how the drama has inspired global participation across languages and cultures.
With just two episodes left, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty continues to show how K-dramas can resonate worldwide by blending universal themes with distinctly Korean storytelling. The series airs Saturdays and Sundays at 9:10 p.m. KST on tvN.
