SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups × Mingyu Just Sold 600K on Day 1 — A Unit Record

[OSENWORLD] SEVENTEEN’s special unit S.Coups × Mingyu have stormed the charts with their debut mini album HYPE VIBES, selling over 600,000 copies on its very first day — the highest first-day sales ever recorded for a K-pop unit release.
According to Hanteo Chart on September 30, the duo’s album moved more than 600,000 units on its release day (September 29), instantly claiming No. 1 on the daily album chart. By surpassing the half-million mark at launch, the pair set a new benchmark for sub-unit success in the K-pop industry.
The title track 5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) (feat. Lay Bankz) also topped domestic streaming charts, immediately taking No. 1 on Bugs’ real-time chart and landing multiple tracks across Melon’s Top 100. B-sides including Fiesta, Worth it, For you, Young again, and Earth all charted simultaneously, highlighting the strength of the project as a whole.

International response was equally strong. 5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) topped iTunes Top Songs in 16 regions, including Spain and Indonesia. In Japan, it also ranked high on Line Music’s Song Top 100. Meanwhile, HYPE VIBES topped iTunes Top Albums in 11 countries and reached No. 6 on the Worldwide Albums chart.
In China, the release received a Double Gold certification on QQ Music after surpassing ¥500,000 in sales (approx. $70,000 USD) within hours of release. With just one day of sales, the album also ranked No. 1 on the platform’s daily and weekly Digital Bestselling Albums chart in the EP category.
The music video for 5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) quickly climbed to the top of YouTube’s Trending Music Videos Worldwide chart, hitting No. 1 in countries such as Korea, Germany, Canada, and Indonesia. Fans described the duo as “the hottest pair in the world,” praised the video as “like watching a full movie through end credits,” and highlighted the concept as “retro yet trendy.”
S.Coups and Mingyu took part in writing and producing every track on HYPE VIBES, aiming to create music that anyone can connect with and enjoy. The duo will launch promotions with a live performance on Mnet’s M Countdown on October 2, where they will showcase their new stage for the first time.
