[OSENWORLD] Naver’s hit webtoon Hero Killer is heading to the small screen as an animated series.
On Oct. 1, Korean webtoon IP specialist Jaedam Media announced it had signed a production deal with ADN (Animation Digital Network), a leading European animation studio and streaming platform based in France. The agreement, sealed during the SPP International Content Market 2025, marks a milestone in the global expansion of K-webtoons, further proving their adaptability across formats.
Created by writer Ggulbeol and illustrator Beolggul, Hero Killer follows protagonist Lee Hwa, who swears vengeance on the corrupt “heroes” responsible for her sister’s death. She takes on the role of a “hero killer,” exposing and eliminating the powerful figures who abuse their status. The dark action-fantasy has built a devoted readership through its serialization on Naver Webtoon and is currently available in eight countries, including the U.S., Japan, France, and Thailand via Line Webtoon.

For ADN, which has traditionally specialized in producing and distributing Japanese anime across France and other European markets, the deal represents its first major adaptation of a Korean IP. ADN also operates in collaboration with professional animation studios, ensuring large-scale productions for its platform.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Jaedam Media on this amazing IP, Hero Killer,” said Bastien Guetta, ADN’s Head of Content Development. “We believe K-webtoons will bring a transformative wave to the global content industry, and we look forward to producing more Korean IPs as animation in the near future.”
Jaedam Media has been actively expanding its IPs into multi-platform ventures, drawing from both webtoons and novels as source material. CEO Hwang Nam-yong emphasized, “This collaboration with ADN demonstrates how K-webtoons can prove their competitiveness in the global animation market. We will continue to broaden our reach by working with diverse platforms and studios worldwide.”
Alongside Hero Killer, several of Jaedam Media’s other titles — including I Got a Child, Even a First-Place Lotto Winner Goes to Work, and Real Man — are already set for drama adaptations next year, signaling a busy slate of cross-media projects.
