[OSENWORLD] BLACKPINK’s Rosé has become the center of an escalating controversy at Paris Fashion Week, after fans accused major outlets and fellow celebrities of sidelining the star despite her status as Saint Laurent’s global ambassador.
The uproar first erupted when ELLE UK uploaded a group photo featuring Rosé alongside Hailey Bieber, Zoë Kravitz, and Charli XCX — but cropped Rosé out entirely. Outraged fans flooded the comments, questioning how a brand’s official face could be excluded. “With over 80 million followers, treating Rosé this way is blatant disrespect,” one fan wrote.
Although ELLE UK later added a solo shot of Rosé, many criticized it as a “band-aid fix,” saying it only deepened their disappointment.
Things worsened after videos from the show circulated. While Bieber, Kravitz, and Charli XCX were seen chatting animatedly in the front row, Rosé appeared isolated, sitting quietly and briefly glancing toward them before lowering her gaze. Fans described the moment as “painful to watch,” interpreting it as another instance of disregard.
Charli XCX further fueled debate when she posted a photo on Instagram where Rosé appeared cast in deep shadow. Some fans accused her of being “jealous” or deliberately framing Rosé poorly, while others insisted it was simply bad lighting and pointed out that the two have long been friends.
The backlash spilled into Hailey Bieber’s Instagram as well. A recent post showcasing her satin slip look became flooded with Rosé GIFs and supportive comments like “Rosé, you’re the real winner” and “Even in the shadows, she shines brightest.”
What began as a cropped photo has now evolved into a broader discussion about respect and representation in the fashion industry, with fans calling out what they see as discriminatory undertones.
Rosé has been Saint Laurent’s global ambassador since 2020 and was appointed YSL Beauty’s global ambassador earlier this year, making her one of the brand’s most visible and influential figures.
