[OSENWORLD] Netflix is set to expand its hit Extraction franchise with a new Korean spin-off, starring Don Lee (Ma Dong-seok) and Lee Jin-uk in a high-stakes face-off.
The Extraction series, fronted by Chris Hemsworth and produced by the Russo brothers, has become one of Netflix’s flagship action brands since its 2020 debut, with Extraction 2 following in 2023. Now, the universe is set to grow with a Korean chapter that places two of Korea’s most formidable actors at the center.
The spin-off follows Don Lee as a mercenary embarking on a dangerous mission to rescue a kidnapped ally, with Lee Jin-uk playing his formidable rival. The project will be produced by Big Punch Pictures, B&C, and Nova Film, with Lee Sang-yong (The Roundup 2, The Roundup: No Way Out) directing. Don Lee developed the original story, while actor-writer Cha Woo-jin penned the screenplay.
Anticipation is building for how the franchise will expand through this Korean chapter, with fans eager to see the explosive chemistry between Don Lee and Lee Jin-uk when cameras roll later this year.
