[OSENWORLD] Actor-singer Yim Siwan, best known as Squid Game’s Player 333, has signed with SM Entertainment to release his first solo album.
On October 13, SM Entertainment stated, “We are preparing Yim Siwan’s solo album through one of our sub-labels, with details including the release date still being finalized.”
According to earlier reports, Yim Siwan is collaborating with SM Entertainment on his first solo album, with the company overseeing his overall music direction.

Following the end of his previous agency contract in August, Yim Siwan has been working independently. Sources say that, under the mentorship and influence of veteran artist Kangta, he decided to join SM to further develop his music career.
Yim Siwan’s role as Player 333 (Lee Myung-gi) in Squid Game also remains one of his most talked-about performances. His morally ambiguous character drew both admiration and criticism, sparking debate among fans online.
Last month, during a Netflix Mantis round interview, Yim appeared with newly dyed blond hair. When asked whether the look was for an acting role, he laughed and said, “It’s not for a drama — I’m actually preparing an album,” sending fans into a frenzy of anticipation.
Debuting as a member of the boy group ZE:A in 2010, Yim Siwan has since earned critical acclaim through his acting in Misaeng and Run On. His upcoming solo album marks a long-awaited return to his musical roots while showcasing his evolution as both an actor and artist.
With SM Entertainment behind him, Yim Siwan is entering a bold new chapter — one that will highlight his versatility and renewed dedication to music.
