[OSENWORLD] G-DRAGON has launched legal action against individuals accused of spreading false information and defamatory comments online.
On October 17, his agency Galaxy Corporation announced that it had filed multiple criminal complaints in cooperation with the law firm Yulchon LLC, targeting those responsible for malicious online posts.
In an official statement, the agency said, “We are actively pursuing legal action against malicious content, including defamation, false information, and slander directed at our artist G-DRAGON.”
Galaxy Corporation said it completed a comprehensive review by the end of September, based on collected data and fan reports. Based on those findings, the company filed formal complaints on October 15 under the Information and Communications Network Act for defamation against multiple online users.
“We are focusing on serious offenses such as defamation through false statements rather than simple insults,” the company continued. “We are working closely with authorities to ensure meaningful legal consequences and will continue to submit additional evidence as investigations proceed.”
The investigation covers major platforms such as DC Inside, Daum Cafe, X (formerly Twitter), Nate Pann, FM Korea, and Naver, with Galaxy Corporation cooperating with authorities to identify offenders and file additional complaints.
“Due to privacy regulations and requests from law enforcement, we cannot disclose specific details or identities related to the ongoing cases,” the statement added. “However, we will continue to provide updates through official community channels, ensuring that our artist can work in a safe and supportive environment.”
Meanwhile, G-DRAGON is slated to receive the Ok-gwan Order of Cultural Merit at the 2025 Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards on October 23, in recognition of his contributions to the Korean music industry.
